My really good friend took me yesterday to a Bliss Spa at W Hotel in Hoboken for my belated birthday gift. We are both Interior Designers and always love to check out new places.
I chose massage - my body has been longing and hurting for some alignment. I think in this computer age everyone has shoulder problems - I definitely needed a fix.
It was great! The massage Therapist was very knowledgeable and experienced (she said 7 years at least). I was happily melting under her hands to the sound - GASP - NOT elevator music - but some carefully crafted lauongy electronic tunes. Once in a while she would ask me some questions to get me talking - so I would breath - she explained. But the best part was that I learned few great tips for my health from a serious professional.
- If you have leg or foot cramps - eat few spoons of YELLOW MUSTARD
According to www.emaxhealth.com "...Could it be the acetic acid or the magnesium in mustard that does the trick? Mustard does contain a fair amount of magnesium, which has been shown to help relieve leg cramps. In fact, one way to ward off these painful cramps is to be sure to include enough magnesium in your diet or to take magnesium supplements..."
I will be sleeping with a bottle of it next to my bed - not even kidding.
2. Lately my left knee started to bother me for-no reason and i didn't want to make it worse by running. I asked if there is something she could do. She did - it was painful but worth it. It turns out that Quadriceps
(muscle at the front of your thigh is made up of four sections and is the main mover when you extend knees) holds the knee and the best way to help your body is to release the tension of the muscle so it doesn't pull on your knee more than it needs to.
That's it for today.
